Iran sets July 25 Kazemi hearing
An Iranian appeals court with senior judges will hold a hearing on July 25 to consider the case of a Canadian photojournalist who was killed in 2003 while in an Iranian jail.
A spokesman for Iran's judiciary responded on Saturday to a Canadian move earlier this week, when the government cut most connections with Iran to back its demand for an international investigation into the death of Zahra Kazemi.
Jamal Karimirad said the Canadian government should have waited for the "final Investigation" on July 25 before criticizing Iran. He repeated the country's previous rejection of an independent investigation.
"The final verdict is not out yet," and "we won't be affected by pressure," he told reporters.
